Flatrock
Flatrock is a rural community 50 km (32 miles) northeast of Fort St. John and just west of the Boundary Grazing Reserve. Flatrock is between two other communities; Goodlow to the north and Clayhurst to the south. The community is dominated by agriculture and oil and gas development. The land is largely flat except for the Alces River (or Moose River) and a tributary which are incised in ground. The land is all within the Agricultural Land Reserve except for some land that slopes into the watercourses. Most of the land is divided into quarter-sections, though there are still some section-sized pieces.
The community hosts the Clearview Elementary and Junior Secondary School which children from Flatrock and neighbouring communities attend. A Mennonite Church is also located in the community. Most residents live on Golata Creek Road, 223 Road or Bison Road.

The students that attended the Ft.St.John dormitory are having a reunion the August long weekend 2012.

There is also a facebook site called 'Fort St.John Dormitory' for people to register on. There were quite a few students from Clayhurst that attended, so I would appreciate if this is mentioned at your meetings.
Thank-you, Regina Hensel
