One Island Lake
One Island Lake is a recreational-residential area located 20 km (12 miles) off Highway 52E, between Swan Lake to the north and Kelly Lake to the south. It is a 66 km (40 mile) drive from Dawson Creek. About 50 houses line the eastern side of the lake on 0.4 to 0.8 ha (1-2 acre) lots. The lake has 200 ha (500 acres) of water surface with a 3 ha (7.5 acre) island near the middle.
The One Island Lake Provincial Park, established in 19xx, covers a 59 hectares (145 acres) on the eastern side of the lake near the residential lots. It is a Class A provincial park regulated under the Park Act. Since 1963 the lake has been annually stocked with brook and rainbow trout which has allowed trophy trout fishing. The lake has opportunities for scuba diving, water skiing, and windsurfing.
